The University of Hawaii women's tennis team heads back to Southern California with a final stop in Las Vegas for a three-match road trip this week. The Rainbow Wahine will face Cal State Northridge on Tuesday, March 9, UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday, March 10 and No. 23 UNLV on Saturday, March 13.
The road trip will be the tail end of a schedule that has seen UH (2-8) play 11 consecutive road matches, including five matches against nationally ranked teams. After opening the season at home in mid-January and have since made two other separate trips to California. The Rainbow Wahine kicked a six-match losing streak with a win against Santa Clara on Feb. 25 to end its last trip and are hoping to continue their success with three more road wins.
The Rainbow Wahine will face two nationally ranked singles players: No. 25 Kristina Nedeltcheva (UNLV) and No. 97 Jana Albers (UNLV). The two women are also nationally ranked for doubles teams, coming in at No. 54.
The Rainbow Wahine will return to Honolulu March 20, for their first set of home matches since January 17. UH will play a double-header on Saturday March 20 against Air Force at 10:00am and then Lewis and Clark at 3:00pm at the UH Tennis Complex.
