Forrester Wins Big Wave Invitational As UH Harriers Take Second

KANE'OHE, O'ahu – University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine cross country runners Jessica Forrester and Ashley Aitken finished first and second, respectively, while the team finished second, at the UH Big Wave Invitational at the Kane'ohe Klipper golf course Saturday.
 
Forrester won the race with a time of 15:05.44, with Aitken finishing second at 15:15.45. Tava Tedesco took fifth with a time of 15:43.92, followed by Liisa Cushing (16th, 16:41.19) and Alexandra Herd (23rd, 17:08.27).
 
Hawai'i (40 points) finished second in the team standings by a very small margin, falling to BYU-Hawai'i (38). Hawai'i Pacific finished third with 66 points, followed by UH-Hilo (87) and Chaminade (138).
 
BYU-Hawai'i also won the men's race by a narrow margin, finishing just five points ahead of HPU. UH-Hilo and Chaminade rounded out the men's teams. HPU's Dany Malley won the 5k race with a time of 16:39.22.
