Rainbow Sailors Finish 14th At ICSA Semifinals


BOSTON – The University of Hawai`i Rainbow coed sailing team saw its season come to a close with a 14th-place finish at the ICSA National Semifinals, held May 2-3 at Fan Pier in Boston.
 
A total of 18 teams competed during the two-day event. Yale won the regatta and was one of nine teams that advanced to the ICSA Finals next month in San Francisco.  Last season, UH just missed the cut by finishing in 10th. This time around the Rainbows weren't as close, finishing with 195 points, 60 points away from the cutoff.
 
A total of 16 races, eight each in the A and B divisions, were completed over the weekend. Andrew Meade and Jaclyn McLoughlin finished 13th in the A division with a total of 93 points, while William Petersen, Ryan Wild  and Erin Magee steered the Rainbows to a 14th-place finish in the B division with 102.
