SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Hawai`i coed team finished a solid eighth place overall at the St. Francis Intersectional hosted by Stanford University, April 4-5. The Rainbow Wahine placed eighth among women's teams and 28th overall.
A total of 32 teams, including both coed and women squads, competed during the two-day event. Due to weather conditions just eight races were completed in two divisions.
Andrew Meade, Jackie McLoughlin, William Peterson and
Erin Magee competed for the coed team, accumulating 154 points. Washington College won the regatta with a 94-point total, 13 points ahead of second place and host Stanford.
Sailing for the Rainbow Wahine were Becky Marbardy,
Jessi Locke,
Darla Baldwin, Jenny Guzik. UH totaled 399 points, while the Old Dominion women cruised to victory in the women's field and finished sixth overall with 148 points.
Next up for the coed team is the PCCSC Team and Coed Championships, April 10-12, in San Francisco. The Rainbow Wahine completed in the PCCSC Women's Championship, April 25-26.
