Final Results

HENDERSON, Nevada – The University of Hawai´i men's golf team concluded the 48^th annual Western Athletic Conference Championship, Wednesday, at the Rio Secco Golf Club. The Warriors carded rounds of 306, 327, and 312 to finish in ninth place with a 945 total.

 

For the third time this season, freshman #T.J. Kua# led UH, finishing tied for 22^nd at 11-over par (75-80-72=227). Kua also led the field in pars, with 38, and was one of only five players to eagle a hole.

 

Other competing Warriors were sophomore Kamden Brakel (72-80-80=232/T29th), freshman Pono Calip (81-80-85=246/41st), senior Cody Pewarchuk (85-87-77=249/42nd), and freshman Jared Sawada (78-89-83=250/43rd).

 

Winning the team title was New Mexico State (282-301-287=870) at six-over par, just one stroke ahead of Fresno State in second place. NMSU's Travis Reid took the individually title at seven-under par (67-73-69=209).

 

This tournament marked the end of the Warrior's 2008-09 season.
