Warrior Golf Falls to Ninth After Round Two of WAC Championship

Round 2 Results

HENDERSON, Nevada – The University of Hawai´i men's golf team carded a 327 in the second round of the WAC Championship, Tuesday, at the Rio Secco Golf Club. The Warriors are currently in ninth place with a 633 two-round total.
 
Still leading UH is sophomore Kamden Brakel at eight-over par (72-80=152). Although Brakel fell 11 spots from the first round to sit in 22nd place, he is third overall in birdies, with eight.
 
Also competing for the Warriors are freshmen #T.J. Kua# (75-80=155/26th), Pono Calip (81-80=161/T38th), and Jared Sawada (78-89=167/42nd), and senior Cody Pewarchuk (85-87=172/44th).
 
Carrying the lead over from the first round is New Mexico State at seven-over par (282-301=583) who will go into the third round with a four-stroke lead over Fresno State. Leading individually is NMSU's Travis Reid at four-under par (67-73=140).
 
The tournament concludes tomorrow with the third and final round.
