Final Results
PROVO, Utah – The University of Hawai´i men's golf team finished the PING Cougar Classic in 13
th place, Saturday, at the Riverside Country Club. The Warriors shot rounds of 296, 303, and 304 for a 903 total.
For the first time this season, UH was led by senior
Cody Pewarchuk who moved up seven places from the second round to finish tied for 48
th. Pewarchuk improved each round, carding scores of 77, 74, and 73 (224).
Also competing for the Warriors were freshman #T.J. Kua# (72-75-78=225/T53rd), sophomore
Kamden Brakel (75-75-78=228/T61st), freshman
Jared Sawada (72-79-77=228/T61st), and freshman
Pono Calip (80-80-76=236/75th).
Host Brigham Young (283-276-283=842) took the team title at 22-under par, nine strokes ahead of the second place finisher Colorado State. Matt McArthur of Southern Utah took the individual title by firing rounds of 67, 66, and 72 for a 205 total.
The Warriors head straight to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete in the WAC Championship beginning Monday, April 27.
