Day 1 Results

FRESNO, Calif. – The University of Hawai´i men's golf team is currently in 19^th place after two rounds of the Fresno State Lexus Classic at the Belmont Country Club. The Warriors played both rounds on Monday, carding scores of 316 and 308 for a 624 total.

 

Leading the way for UH is Junior Robert Berton who sits in a tie for 13^th at 2-over par. Berton shot rounds of 72 and 74 while sinking seven birdies for a 146 total. Second behind Berton is freshman #T.J. Kua# who is tied for 53^rd at 8-over par (77-75=152).

 

Also competing for the Warriors are sophomore Kamden Brakel (81-80=161/T92nd), freshman Pono Calip (87-79=166/T100th), and freshman Jared Sawada (86-82=168/102nd).

 

In a tie atop the team leaderboard are UC Davis (292-292) and Washington (299-285), both finishing Day 1 at 584, 8-over par. Leading individually is Phil Huffman (72-67=139) of UC Davis.

 

The Lexus Classic concludes Tuesday with the third and final round.
