Final Results
STANFORD, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team concluded the Stanford Invitational Saturday at Cobb Track and Angell Field. During the two-day competition, a total of four Rainbow Wahine earned NCAA Regional qualifying marks, adding to their season total of seven after just two meets in the outdoor season.
Last season, UH sent a school-record nine athletes to the NCAA West Regional.
“We already have seven regional qualifiers and its only March,” UH head coach
Carmyn James said. “So we're way ahead of schedule than in previous years and it's only going to get better.”
Emma MacCorquodale won the collegiate division of the hammer throw (172-3/52.51m), in a field that also included teammates
Anika Borden (149-0/45.41m) and
Careena Onosai (137-6/41.90m). MacCourquodale set a new seasonal-best with her throw and just missed regional standard and her personal best by less than two meters.
TeRina Keenan placed sixth in the discus event with a throw of 154-11 (47.23m). Keenan has already made regional standard this season with a qualifying throw at last week's Rainbow Relays.

Jessica Custance placed ninth with a leap of 12-1.5 (3.70m) and
Samantha Weaver tied for 18
th at 11-7.75 (3.55m). Custance is one of the seven UH athletes with regional standard this season.
On Friday,
Amber Kaufman (high jump),
Emily Sheppard (high jump),
Annett Wichmann (javelin), and Onosai (discus) posted regional qualifying marks. The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the Sacramento Elite, April 4.
