Warriors Head To Idaho To Face WAC-Leader Vandals

Game Notes

The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team will look to snap a three-game losing streak when it plays at Idaho, Saturday, Oct. 17 in a Western Athletic Conference match-up at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho. Kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m. PT (11:00 a.m. HT).

The Warriors (2-3, 0-2 WAC) dropped their third consecutive game after a 42-17 loss to Fresno State last Saturday. UH dug themselves in an early hole, having a 43-yard field goal attempt blocked on its opening possession, that resulted in a Fresno State touchdown. Just before the end of the first half, UH muffed a punt return, which led to another Bulldog touchdown and a 28-3 halftime deficit.

Quarterback Bryant Moniz started his first career game and played admirably, completing 24-of-52 attempts for 283 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Rodney Bradley hauled in team-highs of seven receptions for 94 yards and a score.

UH has dropped consecutive WAC games for the first time since 2005. After winning their first two games of the season, the Warriors have dropped three straight, a first since 2000. Hawai'i is 0-2 in WAC play for the first time since 2001.

The Vandals (5-1, 2-0) lead the WAC standings after winning both of its conference games, including last Saturday's 29-25 come-from-behind victory at San Jose State. Idaho is off to its best start since 1994 and is one win away from becoming bowl eligible.

The Warriors have won the last seven games against Idaho in the series and hold an 8-1 advantage, including a 2-0 mark in Moscow, Idaho. The Vandals' only victory in the series occurred in 1960.

In UH's last win at the Kibbie Dome in 2007, quarterback Colt Brennan led the Warriors to a 41-10 halftime lead en route to a 48-20 victory. Brennan finished the game with 369 yards passing and three touchdowns. However, he also tied a school record with five interceptions.
