Women’s Basketball Hosts Nevada In First Home WAC Game

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team returns to the Stan Sheriff Center and will host its first home Western Athletic Conference game of the season. The Rainbow Wahine host Nevada on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 4 p.m., followed by a men's basketball game against San Jose State at 7 p.m.
 
UH began conference play with three road games last week, and return to the Stan Sheriff Center for the first of three home WAC games. The Rainbow Wahine only play one game this week and will play two next weekend.
 
The Rainbow Wahine host WAC leader Nevada. The Wolf Pack jumped out to a 3-0 conference mark, beating Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State at home and beat Utah State on the road on Wednesday night.
 
Overall UH brings a 3-13 record into the game and a 0-3 conference mark. Nevada is 9-7 overall. UH leads the all-time series 22-9, but have lost the last two against the Wolf Pack.

Promotion: Fans attending the Nevada game on Saturday will be permitted to remain in the arena for free for the men's basketball game against San Jose State at 7:05 p.m. Fans must arrive at the women's game before halftime and will be asked to move to open seats in the upper level for the men's contest. The arena will not be cleared between games. Fans with tickets to the men's game will be admitted free to the women's contest (general admission seating). Game sponsor California Hotel & Casino will give away a Trip For Two to Las Vegas on Vacations Hawaii during the "Toss Your Way to Las Vegas" halftime promotion. Fans can register for the contest at the sport s marketing table near Gate A beginning at 6:00 p.m.
