Rainbow Wahine Tennis Sweeps Doubleheader Finale

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team closed out the regular season with its fourth consecutive win after a 6-1 victory over Chaminade Sunday at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine enter next week's Western Athletic Conference Championship having won six of their last eight matches.

Earlier in the day, UH edged Hawai'i Pacific, 4-3 at the UH Tennis Complex.

The matches were the final home contests for seniors Chloe Bihag and Julia Sandborn. The two are four-year letterwinners who entered the program in 2004 from Waipahu High School and Punahou School, respectively.

UH won the doubles point with relative ease as the doubles teams of Bihag and Sophie Kobuch, Natasha Zorec and Jennifer Goldman and Sandborn and Marie Tanaka were victorious.

In singles play, Kobuch, Zorec, Bihag, Goldman, and Tanaka won their matches in straight sets.

The Rainbow Wahine (6-16) enter next week's WAC Championships on a roll. After dropping their first 14 dual matches of the season, UH has won six of their last eight matches to close out the regular season. The WAC Championship run April 24-26 in Las Cruces, NM.
