Women’s Basketball Set For Rainbow Wahine Classic

Game Notes

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team hosts the Jack in the Box Rainbow Wahine Classic, beginning Friday, Jan. 2 when UH faces Pepperdine at 3 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center. The classic includes Pepperdine and Colorado.
 
The three-team classic continues Saturday, Jan. 3 when Pepperdine and Colorado face each other at 3 p.m. The classic ends Sunday, Jan. 4 when UH faces Colorado at 5 p.m.
 
The Rainbow Wahine enter the week with a 3-8 record after splitting a two-game series with Washington State before the holiday break. Pepperdine comes to the classic with a 6-6 record, while Colorado is 5-4.
 
UH will have both of its games televised this week on KFVE (K-5, The Home Team), with Jim Leahy and Lori Santi calling the action.
 
The Rainbow Wahine open against Pepperdine and lead the all-time series 6-3, with the last meeting coming in 2000. Against Colorado, UH is 0-1 all-time with the only meeting coming in 1988 on the island.
