RENO, Nev. – The University of Hawai`i women's soccer team lost its opening game of the WAC Tournament, 2-1 to Nevada Thursday night at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nev. The Rainbow Wahine end the season with an 8-7-4 record.
The Rainbow Wahine came into the tournament as the No. 3 seed, with host Nevada as the No. 6 seed. It was the second time in the last three years that Nevada has knocked UH out of the tournament on its home field.
UH lost its last four games at Mackay Stadium, all against Nevada, dating back to the 2006 WAC Tournament. The Rainbow Wahine lost 1-0 earlier this season on the same field.

Kristen Oshiro took the ball down the right side and crossed a perfect pass to senior
Alexis Choi on the left side of the box. Choi controlled the ball and used the left foot to beat Nevada goalkeeper Sarah Hunt, for her first goal of the season.
Nevada scored the next two goals in the half, taking a 2-1 halftime lead. The Wolf Pack tied the game in the 28th minute and went ahead in the 43rd minute of the first half.

Kori Lu had several keys saved over the final 45 minutes to keep the Rainbow Wahine in the game. Lu ended with seven saves.
In the first game of the tournament, No. 4 Boise State beat No. 5 San Jose State 2-1. The tournament continues Friday when No. 1 Utah State faces Boise State and No. 2 Fresno State faces Nevada.
