Final Round Results
LIHUE, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team finished the inaugural Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational in 12
th place after firing a three-round total of 6-over par 870 at the Puakea Golf Course. The Warriors improved each round posting rounds of 295, 288, and 287.
Freshman #T.J. Kua# shot three rounds under par after a third-round 1-under 71. The freshman from Lihue, Kaua'i, tied for 15th at 4-under 212 (71-70-71).
San Diego ran away with the team title with a three-round score of 39-under 825 (286-267-272). UNC-Wilmington's Derek Wallace took the individual title after an 8-under 64 on Wednesday. Wallace finished the tournament 15-under (67-70-64=201) and a one-stroke win over San Diego's Jake Yount.
UH senior
Robert Berton shot three straight rounds of even-par 72 and tied for 31
st at 216. Freshman
Jared Sawada shot a final round 76 for a three-day total of 221 and a tie for 47
th in his first collegiate tournament.
Sophomore
Kamden Brakel finished the tournament with a 1-under 71 for a 224 total and tie for 57
th place. Freshman
Pono Calip, also competing in his first collegiate tournament, placed 69
th and improved each round with scores of 82, 76, and 73.
The three-day, 14-team inaugural Kauai Collegiate Invitational was the first of two tournaments the Warriors will host in the coming weeks. UH will next host the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate, Nov. 10-12, at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, O'ahu.
