Round 1 Results
LIHUE, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team hosted the inaugural Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational which began Monday with Round 1 at the Puakea Golf Course. The three-day, 14-team event is the first of two tournaments the Warriors will host in the coming weeks.
San Jose State leads the team standings following round one with a 283 total while the Spartans' Mark Hubbard is the individual leader after a 5-under par 65.
UH is currently in 12
th place after firing an 11-over 295. Freshman #T.J. Kua# shot an even-par 71 to lead the Warriors and currently sits in a tie for 15
th place. Junior
Robert Berton was one shot back at 1-over 72 followed by freshman
Jared Sawada at 2-over 73.
Drake (284) is one stroke behind SJSU with three golfers in the Top 15 followed by Gonzaga (285), James Madison (286) and San Diego (286).
The tournament continues on Tuesday with Round 2 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Puakea Golf Course.
