Warriors Tied for 7th After Round 1 of Turtle Bay Resort College Invite

Round 1 Results

KAHUKU, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team completed round one of the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational, Monday, at the Turtle Bay Resort (Fazio) Golf Course. The Warriors are currently tied for seventh place, along with Mississippi State and Saint Mary's, after shooting a three-under par 285.
 
Leading UH is senior Robert Berton who fired a 69 (-3) and currently sits in a tie for eighth place. One shot behind Berton is freshman #T.J. Kua# at two-under par and tied for 13th, followed by freshman Jared Sawada at one-under par and tied for 26th.
 
Also competing for the Warriors are sophomore Kamden Brakel (75/T70th) and senior Cody Pewarchuk (77/T87th). Participating as individuals for UH are senior Chase Bingham (74/T59th), freshman Pono Calip (79/T99th), and sophomore Daniel Soglanich (80/T101st).
 
San Diego State currently leads the team standings at 277 (-11) with SDSU's own Andrew Cooley tied for first individually after shooting a six-under par 66. Also tied for first is Adam Wennerstrom of Texas.
 
The tournament continues Tuesday with round two beginning at 7:30 a.m. on the Palmer Course at the Turtle Bay Resort.
