HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team completed day 2 of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Friday, at the UH Tennis Complex.
The singles and doubles tournament features players from Tulsa, UC Irvine, Cal State Northridge, Hawai'i Pacific, and host UH.
In doubles play, the duo of Rainbow Wahine senior Julia Sandborn and sophomoreMarie Tanaka outlasted Julie Onishenko and Nina Jaworowski of Cal State Northridge, 8-6. Senior Chloe Bihag and sophomore Sophie Kobuch lost an 8-5 decision to Tulsa's Marta Marcinkowska and Thalia Diaz-Barriga.
In singles play, the Rainbow Wahine lost all five matches. UH's Kobuch dropped a tough three-set match to UC Irvine's Becky Bernhard, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0.
The three-day tournament concludes Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
