UH head coach Michel Roy rested his starting six and goalie Meike De Nooy to start the third quarter and that is when UOP began to creep back into the game. The Tiger's Schroeder stayed hot scoring first in the third quarter on a 6-on-5. Virginia McConnell then took advantage of a 2-on-1 to make it a four goal game. At that point, Roy, reinstated his starters.
UH then quickly took advantage of a power play opportunity as Van Belkum hammered in her fourth goal to give UH a 10-5 lead. UH goalie Jamie Wendell then hit Van Belkum down the length of the pool in transition as the frosh skipped in her fifth goal. Roy then cleared the bench again, and UOP responded with a power play goal by Jennifer McCall who skipped in shot from the right side.
In the fourth quarter, Monika Kruszona fed Scott-Hosaka inside who whirled and fired in a back hand for her first goal. UOP then added a 4-meter penalty shot to cut the UH lead to five. McConnell added her third goal to make it 12-8 in favor of UH. McCall then snuck one in the upper left part of the goal to make a three-goal UH lead. Roy then placed his starters back in and, on the very next possession, Van Belkum got loose and beat UOP's Gray 1-on-1 for her sixth score. UOP's Marla Pavik then pumped in a shot from way out on the right side beating UH's Wendell in the upper left goal. UH's Anna Sieprath responded with less than a minute remaining with her first goal of the day.
