WAIKOLOA, HI--The University of Hawaii Warrior golf team finished the second round of the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate in a tie for 20th place with a two-day total of 604.
UH shot 298, a six-stroke improvement from round one and moved into a tie for 20th place with Houston with 18 holes left. Senior Matt Kodama is the top Warrior performer with a 3-over 147, good for a tie for 58th place. Also competing are Geoffrey Stevens (152, T84), Kellen Floyd-Asao (147, T77), Cody Wolfenbarger (154, T86) and Pierre-Henri Soero (162, 105).
Scott Gordon of UC Davis is the individual leader with an eight-under 136, two strokes ahead of the nearest competitor. Georgia Tech, which led by 10 strokes after round one, had its lead shaved to just two strokes ahead of UCLA and UC Davis. The Yellow Jackets have a total of 563 (-13).
The final round of the 54-hole competition concludes Friday.
