'Bows Hit Hard at Flight Tournament

WAIKOLOA, Hawai`i - The Hawai`i men's tennis team struggled on Day 1 of the Flight Tournament at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort on the Big Island. The Rainbow Warriors lost six of seven singles matches and all four doubles contests.

The lone Hawai`i victory was recorded by freshman Burke Marold, who defeated Kal Patrick of William & Mary, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1. Marold did not compete in UH's dual matches against Texas and Rice over the past two days. He now advances to the main draw beginning Thursday.
