Kodama Finishes Third at Barona Collegiate Cup

LAKESIDE, Calif.-- Senior golfer Matt Kodama notched his fourth straight top-ten performance of the year with a third-place finish at the Barona Collegiate Cup hosted by San Diego State. Kodama scored a five-under 67 and a three-under 69 in the second and third rounds, respectively, to finish 12-under par on the final day of action at the 7,088-yard Barona Creek Golf Course.

With a 12-under 204, Kodama finished five strokes behind individual medallist Chris Baryla of UTEP (199, -17). Kodama's third-place finish marked the third time in four tournaments this year he has finished in the top five.

The Warriors finished the tournament in 14th place after posting second and third round scores of 289 to finish at 875 (+11) for the tournament. Other Warrior golfers were Geoffrey Stevens (78-72-72, +6), James Beston (75-77-73, +9), Pierre-Henri Soero (78-74-75, +11), and Adam Walker (76-76-78, +14). Colorado State finished in first place out of the 18-team field with a score of 836 (-28).

The Warriors next host the UH/Turtle Bay Intercollegiate on November 3-4 at the Links at Kuilima.
