Natasha Kai erupted for four goals as Hawai`i walloped Nevada, 4-1, in a Western Athletic Conference match Friday night. The Rainbow Wahine improved to 9-4-1 overall and 4-1 in the WAC.
Kai scored three of her four goals in the first half, striking in the 13th, 30th and 35 minute. She tacked on her fourth goal in the 73rd minute with UH already up 3-1. With 20 goals this season, Kai eclipsed her own single-season school record of 16 set last year as a freshman. Her four goals in a match is only surpassed by a five-goal performance versus Morehead State earlier this season on September 14. Junior midfielder Natalie Groenewoud served up Kai for the first goal, while Arlene Devitt assisted on the two other first-half goals.
The Rainbow Wahine continue to play well on the road where they are 5-1-1 thus far this season.
The Rainbow Wahine will next hit travel to Idaho to face Boise State in another WAC contest, October 12 at 1 p.m. MST.
