The University of Hawai`i Warrior tennis team (7-5) came out fearless as they downed Radford University, 4-0, at UH Tennis Complex Wednesday. The Warriors are on a five-game win streak consisting of three consecutive sweeps.
Leading the Warriors is junior Malino Oda, who cruised by Radford’s Robel Mengisteab in two sets, 6-2, 6-0. The Warriors continue to rally around Oda who hasn’t suffered a loss since the team’s match against nationally-ranked Middle Tennessee State (37) on Jan. 18.
Regie Moralejo claimed a victory in the No. 1 position over Highlander Bartlo Oosthuizen in two sets 6-1, 6-4, while Lincoln Leeder defeated Rashid Lamrissi, 6-4, 6-0.
Closing the match for the Warriors was Jorge Gonzalez who overpowered Dominic Soeur, 6-1, 6-0, to give the Warriors a 4-0 lead.
Hawai`i will face nationally-rankedNew Mexico (37) Thursday at the UH Tennis Complex. Matches will begin at 2:30 p.m.
