The ‘Bows Athletics Club replaces the H-Club Athletic Fund as the new official annual giving program of UH Athletics. It shifts the focus from a transaction-based model to one centered on recognizing philanthropic support for student-athletes. Members receive meaningful recognition for their generosity and have enhanced opportunities to engage with the department and our programs while supporting student-athlete success.

College athletics has changed significantly in recent years, and so has the way universities engage supporters. The new model reflects best practices used by Division I athletics departments across the country and creates one unified giving program that recognizes supporters at every giving level.

The H-Club has been the foundation of athletics giving at UH for more than a decade, and we are deeply grateful for the support of our members. The ’Bows Athletics Club builds on that legacy by creating a more flexible and modern giving program that recognizes a broader range of support while continuing to invest in the success of UH student-athletes.

Membership begins at $100 and is based on eligible annual giving to UH Athletics. Supporters receive benefits and recognition based on their membership level. Higher giving levels receive additional recognition and benefits.

Eligible contributions and pledges made between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027 will count toward your membership status for the 2027–28 academic year.

All philanthropic gifts made through the UH Foundation in support of UH Athletics work towards ‘Bows Athletics Club membership, including gifts to department-wide or program-specific funds, such as Our Team, Hawai‘i’s Team Fund and the Boost the ’Bows (NIL) Fund.

The loyalty points system within the ’Bows Athletics Club recognizes longtime support for UH Athletics. Unlike annual membership levels, loyalty points accumulate over time.

Points may be earned through eligible activities including charitable giving, season ticket purchases, consecutive years of giving, consecutive years as a season ticket holder, and postseason or away game tickets purchased through UH.

UH Athletics plans to provide an online portal later this year where members can view their loyalty points and ranking.

Loyalty points help determine priority for:

• Postseason ticket opportunities
• Ticket relocation
• Select special events
• Seat selection at the new Aloha Stadium
• Other member opportunities
   

Membership level and loyalty points complement each other. Annual giving determines your membership level, while loyalty points determine your priority ranking within that level. This ensures longtime supporters continue to receive recognition while annual giving determines benefit eligibility.

Earning loyalty points alone does not constitute membership in the ’Bows Athletics Club.

Yes. Beginning July 1, 2027, the ’Bows Athletics Club will become the  annual giving program for UH Athletics. 

2026-27 H-Club member benefits will be fulfilled as scheduled.

In appreciation for your loyalty and years of support, all 2026-27 H-Club members will automatically receive All-Conference status, the program’s second membership level, during the inaugural 2027–28 academic year.

No. ’Bows Athletics Club membership will be earned exclusively from philanthropic giving to UH Athletics. However, support through season ticket purchases and seat premiums will be recognized by the new loyalty points system.

Yes. The new loyalty points system will recognize eligible giving and season-ticket history dating back to 2001, ensuring that longtime supporters continue to receive recognition for their commitment to UH Athletics.

Membership structure and benefits will evolve under the new program. While some benefits and recognition opportunities may change, UH Athletics remains committed to recognizing and rewarding the loyalty of our supporters. Updated benefit information will be available on the ’Bows Athletics Club website after the fall season.

Eligible contributions that earn ’Bows Athletics Club membership may qualify as tax-deductible charitable donations. Donors should consult their tax advisor regarding their individual circumstances.

Yes. Supporters who contribute at least $100 annually to a specific sport may opt-in to becoming a member of a team’s booster club.

Every gift helps UH Athletics recruit and retain outstanding student-athletes, provide resources that promote academic and athletic success, and ensure Rainbow Warrior and Rainbow Wahine teams remain competitive nationally while representing Hawai?i with pride.

The Shoji Society is a new leadership giving society for UH Athletics that recognizes individuals and organizations making significant commitments to the future of Rainbow Warrior and Rainbow Wahine athletics. It is named in honor of legendary women’s volleyball coach Dave Shoji and is designed to recognize transformational giving and inspire long-term investment in UH student-athletes. The Shoji Society serves as the major giving component of the newly launched ’Bows Athletics Club, which provides opportunities for supporters at all giving levels to invest in UH Athletics.

Membership begins with a minimum commitment of $50,000, which may be fulfilled through a qualifying pledge over up to five years. There are four recognition levels based on cumulative commitments: $50,000, $250,000, $500,000 and $1 million. Donors can reach Shoji Society levels through commitments supporting the Our Team, Hawai?i’s Team Fund and/or the Boost the ’Bows Fund, including through endowments, naming opportunities or capital projects.

The Shoji Society launches with 10 charter members whose leadership commitments or lifetime giving of $1 million or more have helped establish a strong foundation for the future of UH Athletics. For its inaugural year, individuals and organizations that contributed at least $50,000 during fiscal year 2025–26 will receive honorary Shoji Society membership through June 30, 2027. Continued membership will be based on a qualifying pledge commitment.

Shoji Society and ’Bows Athletics Club investments help provide resources that directly impact the student-athlete experience, including scholarships, NIL opportunities, student-athlete development, facility enhancements and other athletics priorities. Donors may support UH Athletics at the department or team level through the designated funds and giving opportunities.

Dave Shoji is one of the most influential figures in UH Athletics history. During his 42-year career as Rainbow Wahine volleyball head coach, he won four national championships and more than 1,200 games while inspiring generations of supporters to invest in UH Athletics. Shoji personally approved the use of his name for the society and said he hopes it will inspire more people to invest in the future of UH Athletics.
