Bess Named To Walter Camp All-America Team

HONOLULU - University of Hawai'i slotback Davone Bess picked up his second All-America honor named to the 2007 Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America team, the 118th honored by the organization. The nation's oldest All-America team was announced live last night on The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show.

Bess, a junior, leads the squad with 101 receptions on the season. The native of Oakland, Calif., has hauled in 1,213 receiving yards and is second on the team with 12 touchdowns. He has gone over the 1,000-yard mark in receiving all three seasons with UH.

It is the second All-America honor for Bess this season after named to the Rivals.com All-America third team last week.

As a freshman in 2005, Bess was named to Rivals.com Freshman All-America team. He is a three-time all-Western Athletic Conference pick and last season was an honorable mention All-American selection by SI.com.

He and the Warriors begin practice next week following finals in preparation for the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Jan. 1, 2008, against the Georgia Bulldogs.
