University of Hawai'i at Manoa Athletics

Russ Gima joined the University of Hawai‘i Athletics Department as a student equipment manager in 1983. After graduating in 1988, he served as the equipment manager for women’s athletics until 1995.
 
He currently holds the position of Assistant Manager in the Stan Sheriff Center since 1995. He, along with Rich Sheriff and Rico Nakashima, are in charge of event management of the facility.
 
Gima is from the island of Lana‘i and is married for former Rainbow Wahine softball player Gina Gipaya. They reside in Mililani, O‘ahu with their dog Bloo.
