Kyle “Tats” Tateishi joined the University of Hawai‘i Athletics Department as a student assistant from 2001-06 before becoming full-time in 2006.
Tateishi is currently the assistant equipment manager of the Mauka Equipment Room since 2006. He is responsible for men’s basketball, men’s tennis, men’s volleyball, cheerleading, coed sailing, beach volleyball, track/cross country, women’s soccer, softball, women’s volleyball, women’s golf, and women’s tennis.
Tateishi is responsible for laundry services for team practices and games; setting up for games; team ordering of apparel and uniforms; inventory and setting up for apparel printing from delivery and pick up to distribution of gear for practices and games to passing out uniforms on game days.
Born and raised on Honolulu, he received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. He currently resides in Honolulu.
