Sienna Handegard

Sienna Handegard joined the University of Hawai‘i Athletics Department in July 2021.
 
Handegard currently holds the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer since 2021. In her role, she is responsible for football and softball teams.
 
Handegard previously worked at the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho from 2016-21 as an assistant athletic trainer working primarily with the women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball and softball teams.
 
Prior to that, she served as athletic trainer at two Hawai‘i high schools – Kalani High School (2013-16) and Pearl City High School (2012). Handegard was a graduate assistant at UH from 2010-12, where she worked with the women’s cross country, women’s track and field, and men’s and women’s tennis teams. She began her athletic training career as the head athletic trainer at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Ore., from 2005-10.
 
The Carson, N.D., native earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in athletic training from Boise State University in May 2004. She also holds a Master’s of Science in post professional athletic training from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa in May 2012. 
 
Handegard is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association along with the Hawai‘i Athletic Trainers Association.
 
She currently resides in Honolulu.
