Scott Sinnett

Dr. Scott Sinnett joined the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa in 2008 and became the Faculty Athletic Representative in the Fall of 2019. In addition to his role in Athletics, Dr. Sinnett is a Professor in the Department of Psychology, the Director of the Perception and Attention Research Laboratory, part of the Cognition, Neuroscience, and Social program concentration, and also the Chair of Undergraduate Studies for the Department. 
 
Dr. Sinnett earned his PhD from the Universitat de Barcelona, Spain and then conducted postdoctoral research at the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on human perception and attention, and how unisensory and multisensory information is processed (i.e., integration, facilitation, or sensory dominance). His laboratory (Perception and Attention Research Laboratory) currently investigates how different types of expertise, brain injury, or illness can modulate information processing. 
 
Dr. Sinnett played tennis at the University of Montana and still enjoys the sport with his children (David and Sofia) and wife (Cindy).
