Derren Iha joined the University of Hawai‘i Athletics Department in August 2022 and serves as an assistant media relations director.
In his role, Iha is responsible for day-to-day communications efforts for the department’s baseball and track & field programs while also serving in a secondary role with the football program.
Iha previously worked at the University of Oregon as an assistant director of athletic communications from 2019-22. Throughout his time at Oregon, he was the primary communications contact for the women’s basketball, softball, volleyball, women’s tennis, men’s golf and lacrosse programs at various times while also serving as a secondary contact for the football program.
The Mililani, O‘ahu native earned his degree in journalism with a focus in public relations from the University of Oregon in 2019.
