Biography

2018 (Senior):
  • Played all 42 dual matches at the No. 5 slot.
  • Went 31-8 in dual matches and 33-9 overall
  • 26-8 with Paige Dreeuws and 5-0 with Hi‘ilawe Huddleston in dual matches.
  • Won 25 of 26 matches with both partners during one stretch, including a season-long 16 match-win streak.
  • VolleyMob All-America third team at the No. 5 flight.
  • AVCA Top Flight Award with Paige Dreeuws.
  • Went 13-8 against ranked teams.
  • Five of those wins came over top-5 squads - UCLA, Pepperdine USC, and Long Beach State.
  • Claimed the clinching point in UH’s NCAA Tournament win over No. 2 Pepperdine.
  • Went 5-2 in three-set matches.
  • Along with Morgan Martin, advanced to the Big West Pairs Championship semifinals.
  • Leaves UH 5th all-time in dual match wins (67) and sixth in overall wins (77).
  • Named academic all-Big West.
2017 (Junior):
  • Finished with a 17-9 record.
  • Played majority of matches at the No. 5 flight, going 12-8.
  • Won five of six matches played at the No. 4 flight.
  • Went 10-3 with Norene Iosia and 7-6 Amy Ozee.
  • Partnered with Iosia to win five of six matches played during UH’s spring break road trip.
  • Among the wins was a three-set marathon at No. 2 Pepperdine in UH’s close 3-2 road loss to the Waves.
  • Played final 12 matches of the year with Ozee, going 6-3 (three unfinished)
  • Teamed with Ozee to clinch the first point and set the tone in UH’s 4-1 home upset over then-No. 2 Pepperdine with a straight-set win at the No. 5 court.
  • Also picked up UH’s most dramatic point of the year, by out-lasting Florida State 27-25 in the third set to clinch UH’s 3-2 win over the Seminoles and propel the SandBows into the NCAA Championship semifinals. 
  • Named to NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team on the strength of that performance. 
2017 Match Results

2016 (Sophomore):
  • Named to the all-Big West second team with partner Ari Homayun
  • Recorded a 16-12 overall record
  • Went 12-3 with Homayun, including a 9-1 mark in dual matches
  • Went 0-3 with Ginger Long
  • Went 1-0 with Ka'iwi Schuct
  • Went 3-6 with Lara Schreiber
  • Enjoyed an 11-match winning streak with Homayun
  • With Homayun, went 2-1 in the Outrigger Beach Volleyball Challenge, beating Arizona State and UCLA while losing to teammates Ginger Long/Mikayla Tucker
  • Named as the Big West Conference Pairs Team of the Week with Homayun after a trio of straight-set wins versus Loyola Marymout, No. 3 USC and Nebraska
2016 Match Results

2015 (Freshman)
  • Went 13-11 on the season
  • Playing primarily at the five flight, went 6-5 with London Chow, 3-4 with Ka'iwi Schucht, 4-1 with Gianna Guinasso, and 0-1 with Heather Boyan
  • Won the bronze bracket title with London Chow at the Santa Cruz Collegiate Challenge (3/29)
  • Lost lone match at AVCA National Championships, a three-set defeat with London Chow to Florida State
  • Went on a four-match late-season win streak, all with London Chow.
2015 Match Results

2014: Redshirted.

Prep: A 2013 graduate of Mead High School in Spokane, Wash.…lettered four years in volleyball and two years in track and field… a two-time all-Greater Spokane League first team selection…helped team capture the league championship all four seasons…won a state championships in 2009 and finished runner-up in 2012… played seven years for Splash Volleyball Club.
 
Personal: Born in Lihue, Kaua’i…graduated in May 2017 with a degree in social work...currently pursuing her masters in social work…has three brothers and three sisters…parents are Leonard Zalopany of Honolulu, O‘ahu and Lisa Zalopany of Spokane, Wash.
