Chad Giesseman joined the University of Hawai‘i men's volleyball program as a volunteer assistant for the 2018 season and completed his eighth season on staff in 2024. 

Since joining the program, the Rainbow Warriors have made five NCAA Championship tournament appearances including back-to-back national titles in 2021 and '22. UH has also five 20-win seasons and four Big West tournament titles during his time at UH.
 
At the prep level, Giesseman has served as boys varsity head coach at McKinley High School since 2001 and held a dual role as girls varsity head coach from 2008-2015. In 2012, he led the Tigers to the boys OIA Division II championship where they finished fourth at states. In 2008, he led McKinley girls varsity to an OIA Division II runner-up finish and was named the league's Coach of the Year. He was also the boys varsity head coach at both Hawai'i Baptist Academy (1994-97) and Maryknoll High School (1991-94).
 
Giesseman is also an established coach at the club level, serving as director, founder, and head coach of the Kailua Volleyball Club since 1990. The club has featured numerous UH volleyball alumni and has established itself under Giesseman as the premier Open Division men's club in the state of Hawai'i, with 11 titles at the prestigious Haili Tournament and 14 gold medals at the annual Aloha State Games.
 
In addition, Giesseman is head coach of the SportConX squad of the Premier Volleyball League has coached at both the A'oa Koa Volleyball Club as head coach of the U13 and U14 teams and with the Manoa Beach Club, where he is head coach of the boys U18 team.
 
Giesseman and his wife Corrine reside in Kane'ohe with their two sons, Justin and Cody.
