Biography

2004-05 (Senior): Team's top singles player throughout the season...amassed a 12-18 singles record, including a 7-14 mark in dual matches...had a 5-4 record at three ITA tournaments...was 3-4 in 3-set matches...posted a 5-10 doubles record with two different partners...accumulated a 5-9 doubles mark with partner Derrick Lajola at the No. 1 court.

2003-04 (Junior): Joined the team in January and went on to finish second in singles victories (10)...posted a 10-12 overall singles record and 10-10 dual match singles record...played primarily at the No. 1 court, where he posted a 7-8 mark...reeled off five consecutive victories (Jan. 28-Feb. 6)...was 4-2 in tie-breakers...partnered with Ryan Sceats for a 12-10 overall doubles record...the duo accumulated a 12-8 mark at the No. 1 court...named WAC Player of the Week (Feb. 9). 

Junior College: Attended the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA, for two seasons...played the No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles during his freshman year and the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in his sophomore campaign...recruited by Miami (Fla.), Santa Clara, and Arizona.

Prep: A 2001 graduate of 1st CSTG high school in Brandy's n Labem, Czech Republic.

Personal: Born in the Czech Republic...has two brothers, John and Kamil...parents are Antonie and Jaroslav Ptak of Tachov, Czech Republic.
