Biography


2019-20 (Sophomore): 
  • Claimed 5th place in the Platform event at the MPSF Conference Championships (Feb. 20-22) with a season high score of 305.30.  “Tavi” also had a season-best score in the Consolation Finals of the 3-meter (342.95) placing him 9th over all, and he placed 11th in the 1-meter springboard event (265.95).
  • Placed 5th on platform (233.05) at the Texas A&M Diving Invitational (Nov. 19)
  • At the Wally Nakamoto Hawaii Diving Invitational (Jan 8-10), Tavi placed 6th on 1-meter (273.70), 5th on 3-meter (334.55) and 6th on Platform (264.30).
  • At the NCAA Zone Championships (March 9-11) Octavio made the finals on Platform and finished 12th with a score of 276.60. He placed 24th on 3-meter (252.35)
  • Earned UH Scholar-Athlete Award.

2018-19 (Freshman):
  • Awards and Honors: garnered MPSF first-team honors in platform diving and tabbed second-team accolades in the 3-meter diving.
  • MPSF Championships (Feb. 20-23): competed in three events (1-meter, platform and 3-meter), earning silver in the platform (360.90). Nabbed two top 10 finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter, finishing 10th  (318.35) and fourth (356.70), respectively.
  • vs. Cal State Bakersfield (Oct. 18-19): third in 3-meter (299.55)
  • Sunshine Diving Invitational (Nov. 3): first in 3-meter (266.00)

Prep:
  • Named Colorado Diver of the Year in 2018
  • Three-time first team honoree (2015-2018)
  • Three-time Colorado State Champion (2016-2018) in 1-meter dive
  • Competed for eight years with the Hilltoppers Club team with coach Laura Waggoner
