Nick Folker

Nick Folker joined the University of Hawai‘i swimming and diving staff in September of 2019. 

Folker attended UH from 1998 to 2001, where he achieved All-American status 12 times including the 50 and 100 free events, as well as multiple relay teams. From 1997 to 2004, Folker was a part of numerous South African national teams, including competing as an Olympian in the summer of 2000 in Australia.
 
Once his athletic career came to an end, Folker served as the director of aquatic performance at the University of California, Berkley a position he held from 2004 to 2013. While at Cal, Folker was a part of seven national championship teams, including three women's teams, two men's teams, and two water polo teams. Over nine years, Folker coached and trained 35 Olympics athletes and 22 Olympic medal winners.
 
Since 2013 he served in the private sector as the co-founder of BridgeAthletic Inc. and as the chief performance officer. Most recently he worked as the vice president of innovation at Physmodo Inc.
 
Folker holds a bachelor of arts, business management and marketing degree from UH and a master of sciences, Kinesiology from Cal.
