Nick Jones joins the Rainbow Warriors as a graduate manager after serving the past five seasons as a student manager for Kansas State. Jones will assist with all aspects of the men’s basketball program including coordinating player development, assisting with paper and video scouting reports, recording practice and game statistics, and leading a new team of student managers. Jones, who also served as a marketing and sales intern while at Kansas State, will assist Jamie Smith with the team’s campus outreach with the goal of improving student attendance and participation at home basketball games.
 
From 2009 to 2014, Jones served as a student manager for Kansas State under head coaches Frank Martin and Bruce Weber. In 2012 Jones was elevated to head manager. During his tenure, Kansas State had a 121-51 record and made five straight NCAA tournament appearances including an Elite Eight appearance in 2010. In 2013, Kansas State also won the Big 12 regular season championship.
 
Jones’ responsibilities for the Wildcats included processing promotional materials for recruits, setting up practices, filming & coding games and practices, analyzing game film, keeping statistics during games, maintaining inventory of team gear and merchandise, and coordinating logistics for coaches and players. Jones coached and assisted with camp operations at Kansas State, and has also coached at Duke and Ohio State basketball camps.
 
Jones is a 2014 graduate of Kansas State University with a major in business management, minor in leadership studies, and a coaching certificate. He is currently pursuing a master of science in adapted physical activity from the Department of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science.
