Joseph Hala’ufia enters his first season as a Rainbow Warrior graduate manager after serving the past two years as an assistant equipment manager at Boston University. Hala’ufia’s main responsibilities will include assisting with the management and distribution of team uniforms and equipment, the set up of facilities for practice and individual workouts, recording of statistics during games and practices and assisting the men’s basketball office with all administrative and managerial tasks.
 
From 2012-2014, Hala’ufia served as an assistant equipment manager for Boston University. Hala’ufia’s duties included the collection and distribution of uniforms and equipment for all Terrier athletic teams.
 
Hala’ufia is originally from San Mateo, Calif.,  and spent the past two summers assisting the varsity basketball programs at Aragon High School, his alma mater. His primary responsibilities involved individual skill development and coaching summer league games.
 
Hala’ufia graduated from Boston University in 2014 with a bachelor of arts in history. He served as a leader within the Multi Ethnic Chapter of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Hala’ufia, who is of Tongan, also studied abroad at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Pacific Island Studies.
