Jabari Trotter

Jabari Trotter joined the Rainbow Warrior coaching staff in the summer of 2018. He oversees the development of UH’s wing players while also focusing on the phases of rebounding and transition for the Rainbow Warriors. Trotter is also involved in scouting, recruiting, academics, and the team’s media efforts.

COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
  • Has a diverse resume, having coached both men and women and on the secondary, post-secondary, and collegiate levels. 
  • In his first season at UH, the ‘Bows finished third in the Big West in rebound margin. Also, guided Jack Purchase in earning all-Big West honors as a senior while leaving the school as the program’s all-time three-point shooter.
  • Has helped develop wing player Samuta Avea, who entered the program as a reserve and enjoyed a breakout 2019-20 season as the team’s second-leading scorer. 
  • Prior to UH, served as an assistant coach at has his alma mater Dartmouth.
  • While at Dartmouth, was responsible for practice and game preparation, player development and scouting, as well as serving as co-coordinator for recruiting.
  • First collegiate job was as director of basketball operations for Lehigh where he was charged with team travel, budgeting, social media management, and academics, among other duties. The Mountain Hawks finished second in the Patriot League with a 13-5 conference record during that season.
  • Prior to Lehigh, served as an assistant coach at his former post-second secondary school Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire where he was heavily involved in recruiting on both coasts.
  • Got his first coaching job overseas in Ireland while playing professionally.
  • Coached the KUBS U17 girls’ basketball team and the Lady Haroldites of the Ireland Division II Women’s League during that time.      
     
PLAYING EXPERIENCE
  • Dartmouth, 2008-12

PLAYING HIGHLIGHTS
  • A four-year starting guard Dartmouth, Trotter played in the second-most games in program history (112) and buried 102 three-pointers in his career.
  • Was one of just two Dartmouth student-athletes chosen to be on the board to select the college’s new athletic director.
  • After his college graduation, traveled overseas to play professional basketball in Ireland’s Premier League with the Dublin Thunder.
