Garrett Jackson Head Shot 2018-19

Garrett Jackson

Garrett Jackson begins his first season with the Rainbow Warrior staff. Jackson will assist with video breakdown, scouting, recruiting, practice preparation, and player development. He’ll also serve as the program’s nutrition coordinator.

Jackson comes to Hawai‘i after playing three seasons of professional basketball in Australia and Germany. The native of Portland, Ore., played collegiately at USC (2010-12) and Saint Mary’s (2013-15) and was part of three postseason squads, including the 2010-11 USC team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

It was at Saint Mary’s where he first played under then-Gael’s assistant and current UH head coach Eran Ganot.  Jackson was a part of two NIT squads at Saint Mary’s. As a senior, he played in all 31 games, starting 20 and scoring in double-figures in 12 contests.

Following college, Jackson started his professional career with the North-West Tasmania Thunder of the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL). He also had stints with the Melbourne United, Sydney Kings and Dandenong Rangers before concluding his career in Europe with Oliver Würzburg  of the German ProB.

Jackson earned his bachelor's degree in communication from Saint Mary’s in 2015 and is currently pursuing a master's in coaching and sports management at UH.
