Adam Jacobsen returned to Manoa in May 2026 for his second stint with the Rainbow Warriors. A coaching veteran of more than two decades, Jacobsen was the offensive architect for the most successful season in program history in 2015-16.

COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
  • Boasts more than 25 years of collegiate coaching experience, serving as the offensive coordinator at four different stops. 
  • In his most recent stop at Utah Valley, he helped lead the Wolverines to back-to-back 25-win seasons, highlighted by a pair of WAC regular-season titles.
  • Utah Valley went 50-17 overall during his tenure which included bids to the NIT Tournament in 2025 and ‘26.
  • Before arriving in Orem, Jacobsen spent four seasons (2019–23) as an assistant coach at California Baptist, where he helped guide the Lancers to multiple 18-plus win seasons.
  • That included a 21-win campaign in his first season in 2019–20 in which CBU led the WAC in scoring (80.7 ppg), 3FGM (10.1), 3FG% (38.2) and FT% (77.8).
  • Under his leadership, CBU earned its first two WAC Tournament victories and regularly ranked among the nation’s top offensive teams.
  • In his first season at Hawai’i in 2015-16, helped the Rainbow Warriors win a school-record 28 games, claim both the Big West regular-season and tournament titles, and capture the program’s first-ever win in the NCAA Tournament.
  • During that same season, UH led the Big West in scoring (77.6 ppg), while ranking 22nd nationally in scoring margin (+10.4)
  • UH continued to thrive offensively in 2016-17, leading the Big West in assists per game (13.9) and scoring 114 points in an overtime win over Long Beach State, the most points ever for UH in a conference game.
  • Recruited and coached seven all-conference selections and developed some of UH’s most prolific backcourt players, including record-setting point guards Roderick Bobbitt and Drew Buggs.
  • Began his coaching career with a 14-year stint at his alma mater the University of the Pacific, where he served as associate head coach for two seasons. 
  • During his time at Pacific, he helped the program to five Big West titles, four NCAA Tournament appearances while boasting seven 20-plus win seasons.
  • Recruited and coached 38 all-conference selections, as well as three Players of Year while at Pacific.
  • Enjoyed a successful two-year head coaching stint at his alma mater, Crescenta Valley High School directed the program to two CIF playoff appearances. 
  • After the 2002-03 season, he was voted Pacific League Coach of the Year and named All-Area Coach of the Year by the Glendale News Press.

PLAYING HIGHLIGHTS
  • A three-time all-Big West Conference second-team selection and is a 2010 inductee of the Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame.
  • Left Pacific as the all-time leader in assists (436) and three-pointers (311). Also ranked second in steals (160) and finished with 1,513 points over a career that spanned 120 games.
