The first phase of expansion to meet the demands of hosting FBS football games included bringing in bleachers to seat up to 9,000 fans while adding luxury suites on the makai side of the facility.

The seating capacity expanded to its current number of 15,194 prior to the start of the 2023 season while the old video board from Aloha Stadium was mounted to the back of Les Murakami Stadium to provide an enhanced gameday experience.

When the sun dips below the horizon and the stadium lights flicker on, the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex transforms into one of the most stunning settings in college sports. Framed by some of the most beautiful sunsets in the country, the field offers a backdrop where natural beauty meets the energy on the field, and every evening feels like magic.

Other additions have been made in and around Ching Complex to further enhance the football gameday experience in recent years. Food trucks park along the mauka side of the facility on gamedays to offer fans a variety of food options while pregame concerts and activities have been mainstays either on Upper Campus or in Les Murakami Stadium since 2023. Tailgating on Upper Campus has also been an option for fans since the end of the 2024 season.
