SERIES INFORMATION
  • SDSU now leads the overall series 26-11-2.
  • SDSU has won five straight overall after UH won back-to-back games in 2018 and ’19.
  • The Aztecs have won 11 of the last 13 in the series and 20 of the last 24.
  • SDSU has won 13 of the 17 meetings at home, including 11 of the last 12. UH’s only victory during that span occurred in 2018, a 31-30 overtime win.
  • Six of the last seven meetings have been decided by seven points or less.
 
UH IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST
  • UH dropped to 31-66 (.323) all-time in the MW, including 13-35 (.277) on the road.
  • UH dropped to 5-8 in Mountain West openers since joining the league in 2012, including a 3-6 mark in MW openers on the road.
 
TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS
  • UH is 1-13 on the road under Chang, including 0-2 this season.
  • Under head coach Timmy Chang, UH is 0-4 following bye weeks, including 0-2 this season.
  • Hawai‘i has dropped its last 12 games on national television and 15 of its last 16 dating back to the start of the 2021 season.
  • UH has dropped its last three MW openers on the road.
 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS
  • Brayden Schager made his 27th straight start at quarterback dating back to 2022, setting the longest such streak in school history, surpassing  Bryant Moniz (26, 2009-11).
  • Peter Manuma owns the longest starting streak on the defensive side of the ball with 26 straight starts at safety dating back to his freshman season in 2022.
  • Pofele Ashlock has caught a pass in all 18 games of his career.
  • Ashlock has scored a touchdown now in four straight games following his 6-yard catch in the third quarter. The last player to have a receiving  touchdown in four straight games was Calvin Turner Jr.  in 2020.
  • Ashlock has logged eight or more catches in each of the last four games. The last UH player to do that was Greg Salas who had five-straight such games in 2010.
 
TEAM NOTES
  • UH ran a season-high 73 plays while tying its season high with 44 pass attempts (also vs. Northern Iowa).
  • UH’s 14-play,  89-yard scoring drive that put the Rainbow Warriors up 24-20 in the fourth quarter was the longest drive this season in terms of plays and yards.
  • UH finished with 10 tackles-for-loss, one shy of a season high (11 vs. Delaware State).
  • The Rainbow Warriors limited SDSU to just 2.9 yards per carry, the lowest average by a UH opponent this year.
  • Marquez Cooper’s 31-yard run in the second quarter was just the second run for better than 20 yards by a UH opponent this season.
  • UH surrendered five sacks, tied for the most by a UH opponent this year (also by UCLA)
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Brayden Schager tossed three touchdown passes and has seven combined in the last two games.
  • Schager completed a pass to 11 different players on the evening.
  • Tylan Hines scored the first receiving touchdown of his career on a 23-yard catch in the second quarter that knotted the game 10-10.
  • Pofele Ashlock scored his team-leading fourth touchdown of the season on a 6-yard catch in the third-quarter.
  • Nick Cenacle found the endzone for the second straight game with a 23-yard catch and run that put UH up 24-20 early in the fourth quarter. Cenacle has three touchdowns in the last two games combined.
  • Elijah Robinson recorded a career-high 11 tackles, including 10 solo and 3.0 for-a-loss, which was also a career-high.
  • His 11 tackles were tied for the most by a UH player this season (Jamih Otis vs. Delaware State) and the most by a Hawai‘i defensive lineman since 2015 (Luke Shawley vs. Colorado).
  • Jackie Johnson III recorded his team-leading third sack of the season on SDSU’s opening possession.
  • Malachi Finau posted his first sack of the season with a third-down takedown of Danny O’Neil.
  • Kansei Matsuzawa nailed a 35-yard field goal in the first quarter and is now 5-of-6 on FGs this season.
