GAME CAPTAINS

SERIES INFORMATION
  • Oregon ended a three-game skid against UH in the first meeting between the team in 29 years. The Ducks now lead the series, 5-3.
  • Oregon has now won two of the three meetings in Eugene.
  • Three of UH’s five losses to Oregon have come by more than 40 points (41 in 1921; 41 in 1969; 45 in 2023).
 
UH VERSUS THE PAC-12
  • Hawai‘i fell to 32-66 (.327) against current members of the Pac-12 conference, including 0-2 this year. UH also fell to Stanford, 37-24, at home on Sept. 1.
  • The loss was UH’s 12th straight in road games against the Pac-12. The team’s last road/neutral last road/neutral win against a Pac-12 opponent was a 38-20 victory over Washington State in 2009 in a game played at Qwest Field in Seattle, Wash.
  • UH dropped to 4-16 in its last 20 games versus Pac-12 opponents since 2010.
 
UH VERSUS THE NATIONALLY RANKED TEAMS
  • Hawai‘i is 11-48 all-time versus nationally ranked teams, including a 1-21 mark on the road. UH’s lone road win over a ranked team was at No. 22 Fresno State in 2008. UH has lost 11 straight on the road since.
  • UH has lost 15 of its last 16 games overall versus ranked opponents dating back to 2010.
 
TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • UH dropped its eighth consecutive road game dating back to last season.
  • UH has dropped four consecutive non-conference road games with its last win coming in 2021 (at New Mexico State).
  • UH has lost 17 straight road games (including neutral sites) against Power 5 teams.
  • UH has lost nine games on national television and 12 of its last 13 dating back to 2021.
  • UH has started the season 1-3 for the third consecutive year.
 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • DT John Tuitupou made his 17th consecutive start and QB Brayden Schager made his 13th consecutive start.
  • Schager has thrown a touchdown pass for the 13th consecutive game.
  • Since the start of the 2021 season, Matthew Shipley has made 37-of-44 (84.1%) field goal attempts and 75-of-76 PAT attempts.
  • After hitting a 29-yard attempt to end the first half, Shipley has now made 27 of his last 29 field goal attempts from 40 yards and in dating back to last season.

TEAM NOTES
  • All three of UH’s losses this season have come against Power 5 teams (also versus Vanderbilt & Stanford).
  • UH surrendered season highs in points (55), total yards (560), passing yards (350) and rushing yards (210), while registering lows in points (10), total yards (201) and passing yards (142).
  • UH has lost the turnover battle in three of the first four games of the season.
  • The Rainbow Warriors have fumbled just once through the first four games and have yet to lose a fumble.  
  • In each of UH’s first four games this season, no less than eight different players have caught a pass, including 10 versus Oregon
  • UH was just 2-of-14 on third-down conversions, however they went 2-of-3 on fourth downs. The Warriors are 8-of-14 on fourth-down plays this season.
  • Oregon had seven explosive plays of 20 or more yards, four of which went longer than 40 yards. UH, meanwhile, did not have any offensive snaps go longer than 20 yards.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Alex Perry scored his first career touchdown with a 1-yard catch from Brayden Schager late in the fourth quarter.
  • With his 29-yard field goal to end the first half, Matthew Shipley moved into a tie for third all-time in field goals made with 45.
  • Shipley also moved into a tie for fifth all-time at UH (with Tyler Hadden) in scoring with 240 career points.
  • Four Rainbow Warriors made their first career start, one on offense and three on defense -  Devon Tauaefa (TE), Caleb Brown (CB), Nalu Emerson (LB) and Wyden Ho‘ohuli (LB/DE).
  • Emerson co-led the team with a career-high eight tackles, including one for loss.
  • Justin Sinclair also set a personal best with eight tackles in his fourth game as a Rainbow Warrior.
  • Dalen Morris completed his first pass attempt as a Rainbow Warrior, connecting on an 11-yard pass to Pofele Ashlock to convert on a fourth-down play late in the game. Morris converted on another fourth-down play earlier in the quarter on a 15-yard rush.
