2022-23 HAWAI'I MEN'S BASKETBALL

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

• UH finished 22-11 overall, posting a 20-win season for the first time since 2015-16 and for the 10th time in program history.

• It also marked UH’s sixth straight winning season, the second longest streak in program history.

• The ‘Bows captured the inaugural Patty Mills North Shore Classic while making its first-ever appearance at the Cannon Activities Center in Laie, O‘ahu.

• With wins over Pepperdine, Washington State and dramatic game-winning shot by JoVon McClanahan on Christmas Day in the title game versus SMU, UH claimed the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic crown for the first time in 13 years of hosting the event.  

• UH won eight straight home games - including an undefeated December - for its longest home win streak in seven years. 

• UH lost back-to-back games just once in the regular-season as they were 8-1 coming off a loss with an average margin of victory of 10.6 points. 

• The Rainbow Warriors were monsters on defense, ranking among the nation’s best in scoring defense (14th), field goal percentage defense (23rd) and three-point field goal percentage defense (10th). 

• The ‘Bows notched the largest margin of victory ever for UH in a Big West road game and the third largest ever  in any UH road game with a 26-point win at CSUN.

• UH posted another winning Big West record and have never had a losing regular-season league record in 11 years of conference membership.

NORTH SHORE CLASSIC

After defeating Texas St. in the championship game, UH took home the trophy for the Patty Mills North Shore Classic. They had an efficient offensive night scoring 72 points and showing out in front of the home crowd.

MEMORABLE MOMENT

On the final seconds of the championship game for the Diamond Head Classic, JoVon McClanahan hit an insane buzzer beater shot to lift Hawai'i above SMU. The shot gave Hawai'i their first ever Diamond Head Classic championship.

On our final home game of the season, the fans came out for senior night and gave UH basketball their first sellout game since 2016!
