2022 Baseball Season Review 2022 HAWAI'I BASEBALL SEASON HIGHLIGHTS The Rainbow Warriors finished the year third in the Big West Conference, three spots higher than the preseason poll had them. Third place is the highest UH has ever finished since joining the conference. Hawai‘i won 19 conference games that included a span of seven-straight series wins and three sweeps. The 19 games are the most conference wins since 2008, when UH was still in the WAC. The Rainbow Warriors shattered the school record for the longest game played, nearly 28 years apart against the same team it first set the record. Hawai‘i beat San Diego State, 8-5, in a game that lasted six hours and 14 minutes. UH clinched its first winning conference season since joining the Big West in 2013 and ended 19-11 in conference play. Five Rainbow Warriors earned Big West Conference honors, with Blaze Koali‘i Pontes headlining the way with a spot on the first team. Stone Miyao was the lone representative on the second team. Kyson Donahue, Cole Cabrera, and Dallas Duarte rounded things out as honorable mentions.
