SERIES INFORMATION
  • Wyoming regained possession of the Paniolo Trophy with its second win over UH in the last three meetings. Wyoming last beat UH in 2017 with a 28-21 overtime victory in Laramie.
  • The Cowboys lead the all-time series 15-10 and have won eight of the last 10 meetings. UH’s two wins during the stretch game at home in 2014 and ’18.
  • The Cowboys have now won six straight meetings at War Memorial Stadium. UH’s last win in Laramie occurred in 1991 (32-17).
 
TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • UH had its school-record four-game MW regular-season win streak snapped. It was also UH’s first loss in its last four MW regular-season road games.
  • UH dropped to 11-23 all-time in Mountain West road games, however is still a solid 7-3 in its last 10 MW road games.
  • UH is second to Auburn (148) for the longest streak in the country at 147 games without allowing a punt block. Hawai‘i last had a punt blocked by Notre Dame in 2008.
 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • Redshirt sophomore Chevan Cordeiro lost his first career game as a UH starter. He is now 5-1 in six career starts.  
  • Senior receiver Jared Smart has caught a ball in all  17 games he has played in. He has caught no less than three passes in all but one of those games.
 
TEAM NOTES
  • Since joining the Mountain West in 2012, UH has played back-to-back conference road games in consecutive weeks four times and have yet to pull a road sweep.  UH lost both games in 2012 and 2015 and split in 2014 and ’20.
  • UH finished with 110 passing yards, its lowest total since passing for 88 yards in a loss at Boise State in 2015.
  • UH gave up five sacks against the Cowboys and has surrendered nine total sacks in its  first two games.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Freshman running back Dae Dae Hunter scored his first career touchdown on a three-yard run late in the first half.
  • Senior cornerback Cortez Davis recorded his first career sack with a takedown of Levi Williams in the second quarter. Davis also forced a fumble on the play, one of two forced fumbles he had on the evening.
  • Zion Bowens first career catch went for 47 yards in the second quarter and set up UH’s only score of the game. It’s UH’s longest pass play in the first two games.
  • Miles Reed 32-yard run in the third quarter was a career long.
  • Melquise Stovall’s 27-yard punt return in the third quarter was a career long.
  • Sophomore LB Darius Muasau led UH with 14 tackles, for a new career high. He has a team-high 25 tackles through the first two games.
  • Three Warriors made their first career starts: running back Calvin Turner, wide receiver Jonah Panoke and safety Donovan Dalton, who started in place of the suspended Kai Kaneshiro (targeting).
  • Dalton set a new career-high with nine tackles, eclipsing his previous high of eight at Washington last season.
