SERIES INFORMATION
  • UH now leads the all-time series 21-19-1 which includes a current three-game win streak.
  • Hawai‘i has won eight of the last night meetings in San José since 1999. Of those nine games, six have been decided by a touchdown or less.
  • UH and SJSU had not played an overtime game since 2009. UH won 17-10.
 
STREAKS/TRENDS
  • UH is 9-0 under Nick Rolovich when scoring 40+ points and 20-0 including his tenure as UH offensive coordinator (2010-11). UH has scored 40+ points in five of six games this year.
  • UH is 9-5 all-time in overtime games. Tonight marked the first five OT game in school history.
  • UH has now won two straight road conference games after losing the five previous Mountain West road games.
  • The Warriors scored on the opening possession on Ryan Meskell’s 25-yard field goal. The Warriors have scored on its opening possession in five of six games this year.

  • UH went 8-for-9 in the red zone vs. the Spartans and is 30-of-33 in the red zone this year.
  • UH has scored in 22 of 24 quarters this season.
  • UH went 3-for-3 on 4th down vs. the Spartans and is 10-of-13 on 4th down this season.
  • UH surrendered its longest pass play of the season, 70 yards, in the second quarter.
  • UH had its longest scoring drive of the season on the opening drive of the game, taking 7:15 off the clock.
  • UH finished with over 450 yards of total offense for the 5th time this season.
  • UH recorded a season-high five sacks in the game. 

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Cole McDonald threw for four touchdowns and has 24 touchdown passes on the year. He surpasses Colt Brennan (23, 2006) for the most ever by a UH quarterback through the first six games of the season.
  • McDonald has thrown for four or more touchdowns in four games this season.
  • McDonald finished with 341 yards on 34-of-57 passing, marking the 5th time this year that he has eclipsed 300 passing yards. McDonald also surpassed 2,000 yards on the season (2,100).
  • John Ursua caught a career-high three touchdown passes and has scored multiple touchdowns in five of six games this year.
  • Ursua scored three touchdowns for the second time this season (one rushing, two receiving vs. Army).
  • Ursua leads the team with 13 touchdowns this year (12 receiving, 1 rushing). His 12 receiving touchdowns are the the most by a UH receiver through the first six games of the season.
  • Ursua has scored at least one touchdown in 11 of his last 12 games played.
  • John Ursua finished with 148 yards receiving on a career-high 13 catches, marking the 5th time this season that the junior has eclipsed 100 receiving yards and the 2nd time this season with 10 or more receptions.
  • Elijah Dale and Dayton Furuta scored their first career touchdowns in the game.
  • Jahlani Tavai had 14 tackles including one sack and with 369 career tackles moved three ahead of Levi Stanley (366) for second all-time at UH.
  • Tavai has recorded double-digit tackles for the 4th game this season. The redshirt senior now has double-digit tackles in 9 of his last 10 games.
  • Kaimana Padello recorded two sacks for his team leading 5th sack of the season.
  • Ryan Meskell had a perfect kicking slate on the season before missing two field goals and a PAT.
