SERIES INFORMATION
  • With the win, UNLV gained possession of the Island Showdown Trophy.
  • UNLV has won three straight in the series and four of the last five meetings.
  • UH still leads the series, 15-12. UNLV leads the series 9-5 in Las Vegas.
  • UNLV has won the last five meetings in Las Vegas.
  • Four of the last five meetings have been decided by one possession.

STREAKS/TRENDS
  • UH has yet to score on an opening drive this season.
  • UH has trailed after the first quarter in eight of nine games this year. UH is 2-6 in those games.
  • UH went turnover-free for the second straight game. UH had committed at least one turnover in 29 of its previous 30 games.

TEAM NOTES
  • UH is 9-37 in the Mountain West regular season games, including 4-19 on the road.
  • UH entered the game with one field goal all year, but got three field goals (on three attempts) from redshirt sophomore Alex Trifonovitch. They were the first field goals made since UH’s season opener at UMass.
  • UH’s 7.0 tackles-for-loss is tied for its second highest total this season.
  • UH executed a successful onside kick to open the second half, its first successful onside kick since 2015 vs. San Jose State.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • With 111 rushing yards, Diocemy Saint Juste notched his sixth 100-yard game this season and third in his last four games. 
  • Saint Juste now has 11 career 100-yard games, second-most in UH history. Gary Allen holds the record with 15 such games.
  • Saint Juste had 20 attempts vs. the Rebels and with 220 carries on the season is on the verge of breaking Michael Carter’s single-season mark of 221 set in 1991.
  • Dylan Collie set a new career high with eight receptions (85 yards, 1 TD).
  • Collie scored his third touchdown of the year on a 20-yard strike from Dru Brown.
  • Redshirt freshman Alex Trifonovitch went a perfect 3-of-3 on field goals, including his first career field goal made with a 31-yard kick in the second quarter that cut the UH deficit to 7-3.
  • Redshirt freshman Taaga Tuulima made his first career start at center in place of an injured Tui Eli.
  • Redshirt freshman Kumoku Noa made first career start at wide receiver and finished with two catches for 57 yards, including a 38-yard catch late in the game to set up a UH field goal.
  • Sophomore linebacker Jeremiah Pritchard made his first start of the season and finished with three tackles.
  • Jahlani Tavai led UH with 13 tackles and a sack. He has posted at least 10 tackles in six games this season.
  • Solomon Matautia recorded his second interception of the season while also tying his career high with 11 tackles, recording two tackles for loss, a sack and a pass breakup.
