SERIES INFORMATION
  • UH takes the series lead 20-19-1. SJSU still leads the series 13-12 in Honolulu.
  • UH has won two of the last three.
  • UH snapped a two-game losing streak to SJSU, for the first series home win since 2010.
  • Since UH joined the Mountain West in 2012, UH leads the series 3-2.

STREAKS/TRENDS
  • UH’s victory ended a four-game losing streak, the longest under Nick Rolovich.
  • UH ended a string of four straight MW home losses dating back to last year. UH’s last MW home win came against Nevada in its 2016 MW home opener.
  • UH ended a string of five straight Homecoming losses. Its last win occurred in 2011 versus New Mexico State.
  • UH has lost the coin toss in each of its seven games this season.
  • Trayvon Henderson has his string of 20 straight starts end vs. San Jose State. His last missed start came in 2015 (redshirted).
  • Diocemy Saint Juste had a string of 190 straight carries without a fumble come to an end when he lost a fumble on UH’s first possession. His last fumble came vs. New Mexico on Oct. 29 of last season.  
  • UH has turned the ball over at least once in 29 of the last 30 games.
  • With 37 points, UH scored its most points since its win over Western Carolina (41) on Sept. 2.
TEAM NOTES
  • UH moved to 38-29-1 all-time in Homecoming games.
  • UH improved to 9-35 in the Mountain West regular season games, including 5-17 at home.
  • UH churned out 14 plays on its first touchdown drive of the evening, its most on a scoring drive this year.
  • UH tied its season lows in both penalties (7) and penalty yards (41), matching totals against Colorado State (Sept. 30).
  • After Diocemy Saint Juste eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards, the Warriors now have had three straight seasons with a 1,000-yard rusher, a program first (Saint Juste, 2016, ’17, Paul Harris, ’15).
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Diocemy Saint Juste rushed for 202 yards on 39 carries, registering a two-touchdown game for the first time in his career. He has scored in five of seven games this year.
  • Saint Juste surpassed 200 yards rushing for the third time this season and fourth in his career. He joins Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor as the only players to have three 200-yard games this year.  
  • Saint Juste’s 39 carries set a school record, breaking the previous mark of 37 by Joey Iosefa against San Diego State in 2013.
  • Saint Juste notched his fifth 100-yard game this season and seventh 100-yard game in the last nine contests, dating back to last year. 
  • Saint Juste now has 10 career 100-yard games, tied with Travis Sims for second-most in UH history. Gary Allen holds the record with 15 such games.
  • With his 38-yard run in the third quarter, Saint Juste surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the season and became the first UH player to go over 1,000 yards rushing in back-to-back seasons.
  • Only one other UH player has two career 1,000-yard rushing seasons (Gary Allen, 1979, ’81)
  • Saint Juste moved past Michael Carter for second all-time on the UH rushing list with a 14-yard gain in the second quarter. Saint Juste is at 2,686 career yards and trails all-time leader Gary Allen (3,451) by 765 yards with five regular-season games remaining.
  • Redshirt freshman Cole McDonald threw the first touchdown pass of his career when he found Dakota Torres in the back of the endzone for a 4-yd touchdown in the final minute of the first half.
  • John Ursua, who entered the game first in the nation in receiving yards per game, and second in receptions per game, was limited to one catch for 14 yards after leaving the game early in the second quarter due to injury.
  • UH quarterback Dru Brown finished with 173 yards passing, and with 4,304 career yards has surpassed his coach Nick Rolovich and Ikaika Woolsey for No. 9 on the all-time passing list.
  • Sophomore safety Kalen Hicks made his first career start and finished with eight tackles (6 UA, 2 AT) and one sack.
  • Junior Terrence Sayles made his first-ever start at cornerback and finished with four tackles (3 UA, 1 AT).
  • Viane Moala recorded his second block of the year and fourth of his career when he stuffed SJSU’s PAT attempt midway through the third quarter.
  • Keelan Ewaliko’s 56-yard reception in the fourth quarter tied a career long (vs. UMass, 2016).
